i went & visited an old friend, oscarwatch.com and peeped out some early predictions by no one affiliated with The Academy. with that in mind, i need to get on the horn, it's october 11th and i have yet to see any movie in the theater in the last way too many months. seriously, was it matthew barney's collabo with bjork "Drawing Restraint 9" that i saw last in the theater???? motherfuck.
i'm pissed off that i have to pay for any movie that beyonce is in, but apparently "Dreamgirls" is a best picture contender. i'll put that shit on the back burner until the for real nominations come out. beyonce is the female negro version of kevin costner to me. that is, i can't see a movie starring her. it's true - i've seen SOME bits of kevin costner's movies, but not anything in its' entirety. and i won't. i've gone this far...
so who wants to see some shit at a theater with me? if i can start with JUST ONE, i'll be golden and that'll give me the extra push. 'the departed' screams at me in a way that doesn't make me cringe so i could be talked into that like a motherfucker. baby steps...
what else? i don't know. things are pretty much lame as it turns out. i am now a member of netflix so that's exciting. haha. i was only going to do the one month trial thing for free but who am i fooling? i do enjoy a movie and since i apparently have no strength to leave the house to see something with The General Public (whom i loathe), this ain't half bad. plus, when else do i get a chance to watch one of my old faves, "The Last Dragon." that's up next on my queue.
this weekend, i will be dropping off some schlafly beer and eats at some art broad's house in lafayette square cause i'm a good friend to terry and have connections so his ass is covered as Food Coordinator or whatever the fuck he's doing for SCOSAG. he'll be dorking out being a Redbirds fan so i'll take one for the team. what i won't do however, is don black pants and a white shirt as a "worker." the food/beer will be dropped off and set up and i will retrieve it when the shit's over. that's just how i roll all hatin' on art style. plus, i don't volunteer.
in other news, this shitters will be in town in less than a week and i couldn't be more pleased. i haven't seen jamie in FOREVER and that's fucking retarded.
